Ukulele University 101 Saturday, January 24 The workshop is an introductory instructional workshop for beginner and is designed for those who have no experience with the ukulele. The two hour course, taught by Mike McGowan, will introduce and explore the basics: tuning, chords, strumming techniques, phrasing and songs. The workshop fee is $10 and supports the Western Illinois Museum. Ukuleles are provided or you can bring your own. Western Illinois Museum and Ukulele Macomb present Community Sing-a-long to Celebrate World Ukulele Day Monday, February 2, 2015 In celebration of World Ukulele Day, the Western Illinois Museum and Ukulele Macomb are pleased to hold a Community Sing-a-long on Saturday, February 2 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm.The event will be held at the Western Illinois Museum, located one block south of Macomb’s Courthouse Square.The event is open to the public and donations will be collected at the door for the museum’s Uke it! program which teaches children to appreciate music and play the ukulele.
